welcome to
Between the Frames
My photography captures more than just an image: it hints at a story, an idea, a question. Between the Frames is where I step beyond the lens to explore those moments in words.
At exhibitions, people often ask me about the stories behind my images: what inspired them, why I chose a particular theme, what deeper meaning they hold. I realised that writing was the missing piece: a way to share the ideas, research, and reflections that inform my work, offering insight beyond the images themselves.
Welcome to Between the Frames, a space for reflection, conversation, and seeing beyond what first meets the eye.
Bluebeard — A KEY MADE OF TEARS
Explore the dark symbolism of Bluebeard, the forbidden door and the weeping key in this personal reflection on fairy tales, Jungian psychology, trauma and female agency. Discover how Gustave Doré, childhood memories and Bluebeard’s tale inspired my photography series Go Ask Alice, and why some doors need to be opened.
Like Someone in Love: Marriage, Motherhood, and What It Means When You Don’t Follow the Script
Like Someone in Love explores the weight of societal expectations around marriage and motherhood. Through imagery and reflection, it asks whether fulfilment comes from following tradition, or from redefining love, partnership, and identity on one’s own terms.
Eye of the Beholder: On Ageing, Beauty, and the Weight of the Mask
Discover "Eye of the Beholder," a photography series exploring ageing, beauty pressure, and self-acceptance beyond societal expectations.
